Green Night 2017
On Thursday, 31 August 2017, the dedicated environmentalists of local NGO Save Cambodia’s Wildlife (SCW) return to Green Night with the launch of the short film documentary and complementary book publication “Our Tribes – Our Heritage” at Meta House Phnom Penh.
Over 276,000 indigenous peoples (IPs) are estimated to live in Cambodia, mainly in Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri provinces. Discover the life of the minority groups Brao, Kavet, Kreung and Khmer-Lao. Learn about the threats they face as well as their livelihoods, customs and religious beliefs, and the importance of forest and natural resources for them.
Hear the voices of indigenous peoples themselves, who will join the event for a Q&A. Explore SCW’s interactive presentations, accompanied by environmental education books, games and free goodie bags. The launch is accompanied by an exhibition of photos from the book by Cambodian photographer Alex Buntha Thoeurng.
