Key Achievements

Over the last 19 years (by the end of 2018)…

  • SCW directly worked on the protection of more than 40,000 hectares of forest. That’s 55,000 soccer fields!
  • In total, SCW’s efforts contributed to the conservation of more than 760,000 hectares of forest and wildlife habitat. That’s 1 million soccer fields!
  • This was mainly made possible through SCW’s establishment of 13 CPAs + 14 CFis
  • Our projects reached more than half a million beneficiaries
  • SCW trained over 100,000 beneficiaries and authorities on NRM, NTFPs, Eco-Tourism and Rights-Based Approach
  • To empower youth, SCW setup more than 60 Eco-Clubs + hosted more than 40 Youth Debates
  • SCW established more than 800 Saving for Change groups with over 14,000 members (78% women) and accumulative saving of more than USD 300,000
  • SCW implemented more than 15 projects in 8 Cambodian provinces

  • “Letter of Appreciation” from the Cambodian Ministry of Environment (June 2019) for SCW’s efforts to promote children’s rights, and children’s engagement to the environment.
    In addition, the MoE appreciates SCW’s support for environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.
