Our Forest – Our Future

Did you know that forests cover about 30% of the world’s land mass? And that about 13 million hectares of forest are lost each year? That is 35 soccer fields per minute!

In Cambodia alone more than 1.5 million hectares were lost in the last 15 years – an alarming rate which affects climate and people and demands our joint action.

To raise awareness on the importance of preserving the forests worldwide, Save Cambodia’s Wildlife is proud to present the short film Our Forest – Our Future, which was produced in cooperation with Welthungerhilfe and the EU.

Indigenous people in rural areas mainly rely on natural resources for their livelihood. Through deforestation by big corporations, illegal logging and climate change those resources are destroyed. Leaving the local population struggling for their future. Watch this moving documentary and find out, how organic farming and EcoTourism contribute to empower rural communities and preserve the forests. You can also buy the DVD in our shop.
